Club NEO voted the fifth most tragic hometown club

‘It was robbed of first place’

Club NEO has been voted the fifth most tragic hometown club in the country.

The club in Yeovil, Somerset promises to offer nothing but cutting edge celeb guest appearances and cheap thrills on a night out but the general public disagreed, with 1,855 people voting it the best worst club.

Hometown clubbing is never as good as the glory of uni clubbing, and this result will come as no surprise to anyone from the south west of Bristol.

It was revealed to be slightly better than fourth place’s Oceana in Watford (1,963 votes), but more tragic than sixth place’s Pryzm in Kingston (1,596 votes) as Club NEO racked up 1,855 votes.

Over 32,000 voted in the poll.

Courtney Ingham-Barrow, a second year Politics student from Leeds University and NEO regular, told The Tab: “To be honest the place is a grime hole and didn’t deserve to get off as easily as fifth.

“I recently heard that they were getting in a special guest appearance, Scotty T, from Celeb BB which just proves how awful the place is and out of touch.

“I have not been to the four that rank more tragic but one can only assume that NEO is actually worse and was robbed of first place.”

None of your squad look on point

Speaking to a local newspaper, The Western Gazzette, Tom Griffin questioned the cleanliness of the Yeovil venue: “Absolute dive, always used to wipe my feet on the way OUT! Haven’t been for a year or two thankfully.”

The original entry for Club NEO being the most tragic can be found below:

“Club NEO. Before even getting onto the actual club, just look at the name: they choose to have the word “club” in the name, and then NEO in capitals just so the people who go there can sound out each letter without squinting too much to check that, yes, they have indeed found the most tragic club in Somerset and probably the entire West Country.

“The patrons of club NEO are exclusively vulgar with a D- in English, looking to get as fucked up as possible. Sure, some big names have made appearances – if you can call Tinchy Stryder, Mark Wright and Amy Childs big. Tinchy stopped being relevant about ten years ago, and if you care enough to follow the lives of Amy and Mark, you’re just adding to the tragedy of the whole thing.

“Everything at Club NEO screams out-of-touch. Even the resident DJ on a Friday night who plays “the best in dance and R&B” goes by the saddening name of DJ Clifty.”
