Aber Arts Centre plaza is being painted yellow today

It’s happening right now

The plaza at the university’s Arts Centre has undergone a surprise facelift today, with the drab exterior being painted bright yellow.

The grey concrete that is dominant across the Arts Centre plaza has been lack lustre for too long and now the campus maintenance team have taken steps to brighten the centre of all life and activity on the Penglais campus.

With university open days coming frequently at the moment, the university is trying to really sell itself and better its image when, let’s face it, on rainy days the concourse looks delightfully soul crushing.

The campus really looks brighter by the current works, and comes in a long line of campus renovations such as refitting many lecture halls such as last years infamously grim 0.01 in Edward Lloyd.

The yellow is in fitting with Aberystwyth university’s official colours of yellow and purple and so we can only assume that purple will be added to the walls at a later date.
