Local thug pleads guilty to assaulting girl in SU bar

She was grabbed by the throat and pushed against a wall

A local has pleaded guilty to assaulting a female student in an unprovoked attack during Freshers’ Week.

Mischa Williams, who studies at Aberyswyth, was grabbed by the throat and shoved against the wall by a man who says he was too pissed to remember doing it.

Police were called to the Student Union on September 28 after bouncers had been forced to step in and restrain the thug, named as 23 year old Aaron Daniel Robert James.

Aaron, who lives in Aberaeron, had been in an altercation with Mischa’s friend before he seized Mischa by the throat and rammed her against the wall.

He then hit her round the side of the face before bouncers stepped in and dragged him away.

Speaking in court earlier this week, Aaron said he was “disgusted” with what he’d done but he couldn’t remember what happened because he was too drunk.

He will be sentenced next month as he is currently waiting to be sentenced for a separate offence, which defence solicitor Katie Hanson said could be custodial.
