Gun found on RGU campus

A police investigation is underway

A gun has been found in a wooded area of Robert Gordon University’s Garthdee campus.

It was found by a member of staff and was taken to the police yesterday afternoon.

RGU sent an email to staff and students saying: “A member of RGU’s estates team found a firearm in the undergrowth at Garthdee Campus and immediately reported it to Police Scotland.

“As a result of this, police are undertaking a thorough investigation of an area to the west of the campus between Gray’s School of Art and the Garthdee House Annexe.”

Police have cordoned off the area and their investigation is underway.

The university want to confirm that there is no risk to students or staff, and that their safety is the university’s priority.

With assignment deadlines fast approaching for many RGU students this is really not what they need. The university and students are adamant that university life will continue as normal.
