Aberdeen the fifth best university in the UK for Anthropology

Aberdeen has been ranked as the fifth best university in the UK for Anthropology in the latest Guardian university rankings.

Our university beat the likes of Edinburgh and Manchester, and scored an impressive 75.8 out of 100 for that course.

Overall, we are ranked as the 36th best university in the UK, which is an impressive improvement on last year’s 41st place. This year we were ranked higher than Newcastle, Bristol and King’s College London.

The top ten are Cambridge, Oxford, St Andrews, Surrey, Loughborough, Durham, Imperial, Lancaster, Warwick and Bath.

Aberdeen received a score of 66.1 out of 100 overall, while rivals RGU came 44th and scored only 63.8.

Aberdeen scored particularly highly for the following subjects:

Anthropology – 5th

Engineering – 8th

Medicine – 7th
