Snow forecast for Aberdeen, in April
Yes this is actually happening
The Met Office have issued a severe weather warning with heavy snow forecast for the north of Scotland for tonight and tomorrow.
Aberdeen and the surrounding areas have been told to be ready for plummeting temperatures and wintry conditions.
Several centimetres of snow is expected to fall on higher ground in the Highlands, Grampian, Orkney, Shetland, Western Isles and parts of north Tayside and Fife on Friday.
Motorists have been warned over the potential for icy roads in the early hours of the morning as the cold front moves in and temperatures plunge as low as -5 degrees. Bit cold.
The Met Office’s chief forecaster said: “A cold front will push southwards across northern Scotland overnight introducing colder air and more wintry conditions, chiefly above 300 metres where 1-4cm accumulations are expected.”
The temperatures will become ridiculous and wintry again, and Aberdeen will become a giant ice rink just like it does in the winter months. Be careful Tab readers when walking around campus on the demon cobbled streets, and up and down those hills in Seaton park.
So as we come into the last few weeks of our revision time we can maybe procrastinate even more by playing in the snow.
