A loutish reveler was arrested last night at the ball for his drunken and loud behaviour.

The man was taken in by police at around 10:30pm last night and spent the night in a cell.

He will appear in court today for breach of the peace.

“The Police can confirm they attended Hilton Treetops Hotel at 10:50pm.

“One student was arrested and charged for the breach of the peace.

A source told The Tab: “A group of students were very noisey and one student was giving verbal abuse and ended up being arrested.”

Revellers went from Institute to McDonalds

The ball was shut down early when drunk revelers caused havoc inside the ballroom.

A member of the door staff said: “Treetops staff were assaulted last night – one had a lit cigarette flicked in their face and door staff were assaulted by students.

“There was damage in thet toilets and fire exits, fire alarm panels damaged or opened, and napkins being set alight.

“I feel really sorry for the ones that were well behaved. It was the minority that fucked it up.

“But don’t blame the rugby boys – there was a lot more that happened.

“I just hope the good guys get some kind of refund. The committee need to take some responsibility.”

Balls tend to get loose in the deen

The Hilton said this morning saying the ball was shut down because of safety issues.

A statement read: “We can confirm that last night an event organised by a third-party and hosted at the Hilton Aberdeen Treetops Hotel was closed early by hotel management on the grounds of public safety.

“The hotel worked closely with the police during this time to ensure the safety and security of team members, guests and attendees.

“Our hotels strive to be somewhere for people to get together and celebrate. However, we ask that all event attendees respect other hotel guests, staff and property.”
