Rector candidate denies online dating profile

He claims he’s been catfished

A lonely dating account has appeared online by the same name of a candidate for Rector.

James Steel, 69, can be found on the popular dating site, Badoo, in the Aberdeen area.

He has zero interests.

But the candidate in the running for Rector of Aberdeen uni has fervently denied it. He said: “Well anyone can use my name and pretend to be me, but it isn’t me.

“I never gave my permission for that site to use my name.”

The profile of 69-year-old Steel says he is “here to make new friends” – and he can ride the bus for free.

Unfortunately he doesn’t leave any more information.

But the widower was unaware of being supposedly catfished and will “have to put a stop to it”.

Currently, the rector candidate is a successful lawyer and available for tutoring sessions.

If elected, he’s planning on pushing for more accountable spending by the uni, especially for societies and sports clubs.

You’ve got our vote, Mr. Steel, you saucy thing you.

Voting opens today and last until Thursday.
