THE BIG BEACH BALL 2014 – SUNDAY 4TH MAY – ABERDEEN

With less than a week to go, The Big Beach Ball, Aberdeen’s boutique music festival has announced essential information for the day.

The festival, which takes place this Sunday at Aberdeen Beach Ballroom, has announced set times for all artists including DJ headliners Mylo, Kerri Chandler and Cajmere and live headliners Admiral Fallow, Fatherson and Malcolm Middleton.

Doors for The Big Beach Ball 2014 will open on Sunday 4 May at 1pm. Tickets for the one-day music event are still available to buy in person at ii Music in Aberdeen and Grouchos in Dundee.

Tickets are also available to buy online from the festival website www.thebigbeachball.co.uk and www.residentadvisor.net. Tickets will also be available to purchase from the box office on the day.

This year the acts have been split across six stages, one more stage than previous years, with the addition of The Container Stage which will play host to local DJs on the day including the winner of the recent DJ competition, Acutek.

All stages will showcase a mixture of live bands and DJs over the course of the day. Other stages for 2014 are The Peace and Jam Live Lounge, DSR Voyager Soundsystem, Outdoor Main Stage, Indoor Main Stage and the Beach Hut Stage.

Accompanying the musical side of things will be a great selection of food and drink stalls including City of Avalon who are serving Moroccan street food, an Aberdeen Angus stall providing Aberdeen Angus burgers and The Wee Slush Company providing frozen cocktails, candyfloss and sweets. Festivalgoers will be able to quench their thirst from one of the bars on offer including the Malibu Beach Bar, The Oddka Lab and Sourz Light Up Bar.

Venturing inside The Ballroom itself, The Peace and Jam Lounge will showcase the wares of many local traders. Bead Pop, Black Lake Record, Abetwix, Guilty Peacock, Lilipad and The Cavern Record Store all have stalls at this year’s event offering revelers a chance to buy anything from records to jewellery, printed t- shirts and vintage clothing.
