Tab Reviews: Grub

Nurse a hangover with a ‘hangover’ – the winning formula of my favourite cafe.

The success of Grub (and its predecessor ‘the creperie’) has always been down to the convenience it offers for the first years at Crombie/Johnston due to its proximity to them, their lack of culinary skill/imagination and general lethargic haze between one night out and the next.

This constant stream of hungover socialites makes for the ideal social hub, so the custom returns throughout the rest of their university career, especially if one has been elevated to that elusive BNOC status. God forbid the gory details from the night before aren’t heard and ultimately spread by those who need to be ‘in the know’.

On to the venue itself – it offers precisely everything you need to keep you going on the fly, and no more. Everything can be eaten on the move, tastes great and is good value (who can argue with a £4.50 meal deal?).

So get yourself down, order a Panini, talk about how hungover you are and find out who fondled who!
