#SEENINTHEDEEN / Art, Beer and Beards

Peacock Visual Arts, a leading hub for creativity in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland, saw the opening of its new exhibition #SEENINTHEDEEN on Friday night.

You’d be forgiven for missing it; being tucked down a little alley off Castlegate next to two of the arguably roughest bars in Aberdeen only adds to Peacock’s charm. Inside, a collaboration with WLDWLVS saw a lovely ode to Aberdeen in the form of graphic design, printmaking, photography and film and an all round refreshing and exciting look at the work that’s been going on by many of the city’s artists.

Friendly faces were dishing out the booze while the crowd worked its way through the two gallery spaces. From doodles of “ugly people” to one artist’s Scottish interpretation of the alphabet and a brand new published print by graphic designer Mike Lopez entitled ‘At Night I Dream of Stormy Seas’ were some of the great works on offer to buy or to simply enjoy.

‘At Night I Dream of Stormy Seas’

Go look for yourself and appreciate the charm and culture of Aberdeen and its people. It’ll no doubt leave you feeling all warm and loving and who doesn’t like that?
