Police Seize 50K of Cocaine in Rosemount
Police ruin duo’s day.
Friday, October 11th 2013 saw the downfall of Aberdeen’s own Breaking Bad duo.
The pair, from Liverpool, were holding over £50,000 (street value) of cocaine in the city’s well-to-do Rosemount area. Just why, I hear you ask? Aberdeen is, if you weren’t already aware, the drug capital of Scotland. The ports of Peterhead welcome drugs with open arms as they go on to be filtered into Aberdeen and distributed around the country. And all of this is going on right under our very noses.
The Grampian police have had a major crack down on drugs since 2010, arresting between 600-700 offenders and seizing millions of pounds worth of drugs. It is estimated that 3% of the city is addicted to drugs, second only to Dundee at 3.5%. Plus, the Woodside area of the city has been known to have to one of the worst rehabilitation rates in the country.
