All the Married at First Sight UK cast’s desperate attempts at fame before the show

There is no reality TV show where you will find a lineup of contestants without one or two who have been on television before. Whether it’s cringeworthy or the most bizarre thing you could think of, many people want their shot at fame and will exhaust their options until they can. Some of this year’s cast of Married at First Sight UK are not strangers when it comes to reality TV, especially ones that surround dating and falling in love. There’s definitely a pattern.

Three of this year’s contestants have all been in a number of reality television series, all in the hopes of finding the person of their dreams. Let’s hope Married at First Sight is the final hurdle and it does work out for them all. Although, after that commitment ceremony and dinner party, I don’t see it.

Thomas said he applied for Big Brother UK after appearing on MAFS UK

Speaking on an Instagram story, Thomas recently told his fans that he applied to go on the new series of Big Brother UK. Thomas said: “I requested to go in, I’ve asked and I’m going to tag them again right now. Apparently no because I have been on TV before.” Awkward…

Duka has been scouted for loads of reality TV shows

Speaking on the Will Njobvu podcast, Duka admitted he would do another reality TV show after Married at First Sight UK. Duk revealed he had been scouted for various other reality TV shows including The Cabins, Love Island and Take Me Out.

April was in two reality shows before Married at First Sight UK

Former Miss Great Britain April Banbury, starred in The Cabins and The Bachelor before jumping the gun and marrying George on MAFS UK. In 2011, April took part in the UK version of The Bachelor where she competed for a chance at a relationship with Welsh rugby player Gavin Henson. She was very close to winning as she placed third in the competition.

Ten years later, April took part in ITV2’s The Cabins where she took part in a blind date weekend in a cabin with model Ryan Darvill, but it didn’t work out due to lockdown restrictions making it difficult for the two to get to know one another.

Jess appeared on season two of Netflix’s Sexy Beasts

Dental hygienist Jess starred on Netflix’s wild dating show, Sexy Beasts. Jess dated New Yorker Sullie and was eventually chosen by him out of the other girls. On the show, Jess said she was looking for love after finding out her ex had slept with one of her family members. Yikes. Sullie said he made “the right choice” after picking Jess and admitted he had “fallen” for her charm.

Richie was on two seasons of Take Me Out

After being coupled with Lara in Married at First Sight UK, Richie admitted he had never been in love before. It seems as though Richie has exhausted many options trying to find love, and Married at First Sight UK was not the first TV show he tried it on. In 2011, Richie starred on the second season of Take Me Out and won a date with 26-year-old Natasha. Clearly that didn’t work out as he then returned in 2018 for a celebrity special.
