10 years since it ended, this is what the cast of iCarly are up to now

Most of them have returned to star in the new iCarly reboot!!


Perhaps considered the first influencers of their time, iCarly followed Carly, Sam and Freddie as they created their own online blog and shared it with the world.

The show ran for a strong five years and was a hit with the teens from the very start, coming home from school and watching it on the sofa was an elite afternoon activity.

It was a relatively small cast but the show made them household Nickelodeon names for life, but nearly 10 years since the show finished, what are they doing now? This is what the cast of iCarly are up to now:

Miranda Cosgrove – Carly Shay

Miranda Cosgrove played the leading role of Carly, who the show is named after. She grew up on the show with the others, joining the cast when she was 14 and leaving the show when she was 19. She went on to uni attending the University of Southern California. She continued working on acting projects, voicing the character of Margo in all three Despicable Me movies. After her studies, she was cast in the TV movie The Intruders in 2015 and appeared in the 2016 NBC comedy Crowded.

Miranda recently went viral on TikTok when an excerpt from a podcast she appeared on was turned into the song Probably Fuck and loads of people, including herself, made videos using it. She has most recently reprised her role as Carly Shay in the reboot of iCarly.

Jennette McCurdy – Sam Puckett

Jennette McCurdy was cast as Carly’s best friend and co-presenter of the web series. After the show finished she continued her role of Sam Puckett in the spin off show Sam and Cat who she co-starred in alongside Ariana Grande. Jennette starred in the 2015 sci-fi series Between. She then tried her hand behind the camera, writing and directing the 2018 short film Kenny.

Most recently, she is set to release this month her memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died which details her life experiences growing up acting. She hosts the podcast Empty Inside where she also talks about her past experiences playing roles in TV shows.

Nathan Kress – Freddie Benson

Nathan Kress played the brains behind the iCarly operation, Freddie Benson. After the show finished, he continued his career in the entertainment industry appearing in films such as Into the Storm in 2014 and voice acting in various Star Wars projects. Most recently he has been hosting the podcast Radioactive Dads with fellow actor Brett Davern. He currently stars in the iCarly reboot along with Miranda Cosgrove and Jerry Trainor.

Jerry Trainor – Spencer Shay

Jerry Trainor played the Carly’s loveable older brother Spencer throughout the series. After the show, he continued working with Nickelodeon and appeared in shows such as Wendell and Vinnie, as well as T.U.F.F Puppy. More recently he appeared in No Good Nick in 2019 and and made a guest appearance in an episode of Bunk’d on the Disney Channel. He has reprised his role of Spencer in the current reboot of iCarly.

Noah Munck – Gibby

Noah Munck played the much loved and hilarious character Gibby. Although not a primary cast member he was much remembered for his role throughout the course of the show. He went on to appear in the ABC comedy The Goldbergs which began in 2013 and has its tenth season premiering in September 2022. He also dabbled in the music industry, producing electronic music under the aliases Noxik and SADWORLBEATS.
