Exactly how compatible the Love Island couples are, according to a relationship expert

He said ‘there is an unhealthy dismissiveness’ between Luca and Gemma, yikes

The Love Island final is upon us, and all the couples are looking loved up af. I for one am ready to sob my silly little heart out when they all make their declarations of love tonight. Every single Love Island fan has a favourite couple, and if you look on Twitter there are people saying any one of them can get married. But a relationship expert has spoken about how compatible all of the couples are, and it turns out one of them actually could end up getting married!!

That’s right, relationship expert Massimo Stocchi-Fontana and Thortful have revealed which of the final four Love Island couples are likely to go the distance when they leave the villa tonight and have to be together in the real world. Here’s what he had to say about each of them:

Tasha and Andrew – ‘very aligned values is a wonderful sign for a future marriage’

“What I would call this is a pure and simple type of love”, Massimo says. He says love doesn’t need to be complicated and Tasha and Andrew prove this, their love isn’t complicated and they don’t need “heightened passions and provocations to maintain a healthy and balanced relationship”.

Massimo says Tasha and Andrew are “harmonised on such a sincere level that it is beautiful to watch” – everything from their body language to the pace of their speech. He says this “reinforces their ideas of the future and what they want to create together”, brb crying.

And they could even be destined to get married!! Massimo says: “‘In flow’ would be another term I would use for this couple. They both know what they want. They both know how to compromise. They both know themselves very well and this display of very aligned values is a wonderful sign for a future marriage.”

Luca and Gemma – ‘there is an unhealthy dismissiveness’

Big yikes, strap in for this one. Speaking about Luca and Gemma, Massimo says: “Both provoke such a deep anxiety in the other that you can see a discomfort in their presence together.” He says it looks like they are always trying to prove each other wrong and correct the other person, which he says leaves a sense of “I don’t feel good enough for you”.

Massimo says Luca and Gemma have a “very argumentative” communication style “and very defensive in nature”. He says: “There is a real feel of holding a grudge within the relationship and when it gets to speaking about serious feelings for one another, neither wants to admit that they truly desire the other. There is an unhealthy dismissiveness and almost uncaring sense that plays out between them.”

He says this type of relationship doesn’t fare well for anyone. “It provokes insecurity and breeds possessiveness and jealousy which is already present at such an early stage”, he says.

Massimo says their body language is the most defensive out of all the couples. “Luca always hiding behind his hand, while Gemma always looking away and focusing on everything else except the man that is in front of her trying to share his emotions. The dismissiveness of Gemma towards Luca will lead to him to feel emasculated and his love for her will only becoming torturous.”

Davide and Ekin-Su – ‘together for a long time to come’

Now onto the Italian snack and his queen of the villa, our lord and saviour Ekin-Su. Massimo says that in front of their fellow Islanders, Davide and Ekin-Su show bravado – “but when you scratch under the surface they both interestingly display two individuals who deeply want to be in love and share something magical with one another.”

He says their over-confidence could get in the way of Davide and Ekin-Su being honest with their feelings and could “stir the flames” in their relationship. This could go one of two ways, according to Massimo. They could get “addicted” to the flames and “the constant stirring of emotions will be a needed component in keeping them both interested”, or they could get less resilient to each other’s behaviour and it could become toxic.

But he says, “if they are able to constantly stay truthful to their feelings for one another and keep stepping into their mature adult way of relating”, their love may be tumultuous “but a driving force keeping each other together for a long time to come.”

Dami and Indiyah – ‘there is no messing about here’

Massimo says Indiyah and Dami have mutual respect for each other. “I love how they finish their sentences for one another without actually knowing they’re doing it”, he says. “They have an interesting manner of keeping each other accountable in the way they speak to each other and how they look at one another in the eyes. A sign of mutual respect. There is no messing about here.”

Indiyah and Dami have a loving manner, he says. “There is a degree of seriousness that shows both are very dominant in nature but willing to be submissive in a loving manner to the other too.”

He says the way they act should be seen as two serious people who are “stepping into love”. “If both are able to step more into the playful space and just dive right in, [it] may give them the tools necessary to make this one last.”
