All the celebrities who have reacted to the Johnny Depp verdict – so far

Johnny Depp won his case against Amber Heard yesterday (1st June)

On 11th April, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s messy divorce came to a head in court. The actor had sued his ex-wife for £40 million, claiming she defamed him in a Washington Post op-ed, calling herself a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” Heard countersued Depp for £81 million in damages.

Yesterday (1st June), the jury unanimously decided Johnny Depp was not defamed, and Amber Heard wrote the article with “malicious” intent. He’ll be awarded around £10 million, in accordance with Virginia law.

Fans around the world celebrated – and others showed concern for Heard. These A-listers had mixed reactions, too. Here are all the celebrities who’ve spoken out about the Johnny Depp verdict (so far):

Amy posted a quote by second-wave feminist Gloria Steinem on her Instagram. It read: “Any woman who chooses to behave like a full human being should be warned that the armies of the status quo will treat her as something of a dirty joke… She will need her sisterhood.”

This could be in relation to the number of “Amber Turd” jokes which have been made throughout the trial. Either way, the comedian received a tidal wave of backlash from Depp fans.

It’s out there.’ And ultimately that was the most important thing for him.”
