Andrew Love Island 2022 Sainsbury's

Twitter is convinced Andrew from Love Island 2022 is behind a handbag robbery in Sainsbury’s

We need a Netflix true crime doc on this conspiracy as a matter of urgency

We’re not even a day into the Love Island 2022 and one Islander is already embroiled in his first scandal – Andrew Le Page has been publicly accused of stealing a handbag from Sainsbury’s on Twitter. But from the evidence that has come to light, he’s off the hook for this heinous crime.

Yesterday, the official Love Island Twitter began tweeting out the cast one by one, and when Andrew’s turn rolled around – a Twitter user named Carol McGee had a lot to say. “He looks like the man who stole my daughter’s handbag in Sainsbury’s,” she tweeted to her 1408 followers.

Following up more urgently, crime fighting Carol McGee was on the case and demanded from the Love Island team: “Can you confirm if he was in Bristol Sainsbury’s on March 12th love island.”

However, Carol’s accusation seemingly has been written off after another replied to her saying: “Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Carol, but Andrew was still in Dubai on March 12th, so it seems your perpetrator is still at large.” The Tab has checked to confirm on Andrew Le Page’s Instagram and he shared pictures in Dubai on March 9th and March 17th – so it’s looks like he is innocent from Carol’s allegations. Flights from Dubai to Guernsey are not cheap, and coming back and forth between these dates would be a bit of a faff.

Many pictures are circulating in the replies to Carol McGee on Twitter that are insinuated to be Andrew in a supermarket, but these are heavily believed to be a hoax.

The Tab has approached ITV and Love Island 2022 for comment on the Andrew Sainsbury’s Twitter accusations.

Love Island 2022 starts on ITV2 at 9pm on Monday 6th June. For all the latest Love Island news, memes, quizzes and gossip – follow The Holy Church of Love Island on Facebook.
