The green line test has been going around on TikTok and it’s essentially a warning to people to not date men who lean in photos. It basically claims to confirm who is the boss in the relationship based on any single photo of a couple. The idea is that you’re supposed to draw green lines over two people’s postures and see which line is leaning into the other and which one stands upright. Seriously, after doing this you’ll never not be able to do imagine green lines on every single couple photo you see again. It’s wild. Here’s everything you need to know about the green line test.

Where did the green line test on TikTok come from?

A couple of years ago @alpharivelino was called out on Twitter for introducing the green line theory in a misogynistic context. You might remember the “Don’t lean in” meme, the lean which would apparently destroy any man’s masculinity. Very weird, isn’t it?

Rivelino even made their own merchandise for men, it was a plain black t-shirt with a green line down it. It was so the men were always reminded “to stand up straight and not lean in”. Basically in short, men leaning in towards women in photos shows them off as “weak” and now the theory has made its way to TikTok.

Here’s the TikTok that made the green line test go viral

In the video, the user points out Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and of course Will and Jada Smith. In every photo he used, the females were the straight green lines and then men were being “pulled in”. It’s wild but seriously you’ll never be able to look at another photo again and not see green lines.
