Drag Race season 14 power ranking: It’s nearly the finale, so which queen will snatch the crown?

It is CLOSE

Season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race has been an absolute ride. It’s wild to think that a Drag Race season runs at almost four months at this point, nearly a quarter of the year is spent building up to who will be crowned as America’s Next Drag Superstar. And on this season particularly, where only seven episodes have seen a queen actually get eliminated, we’ve really got to know the queens better than ever. For the first time in Drag Race herstory – RuPaul has taken five queens into the final. But who will win? Who should win? What are the stats for each queen saying? Here’s a full power ranking for the top five queens of Drag Race season 14 – as we investigate who will take home the crown and a cash prize of $150,000!

5. Angeria Paris VanMichaels

I love Angeria Paris VanMichaels so much, and she is a queen who has been instrumental in making this season as great as it has been. The only reason she’s coming in last on this ranking is that I feel like she started the front runner and over the course of the final few weeks has just given safe performances that have missed that wow factor. If one queen had to go home based on their performance in the Catwalk music video challenge, it was Angie.

If the finale format is anything like last year’s, in which the queens did a ball, I don’t see Angeria’s runways pushing her into the top two – even if she can eat up a lip sync. I just feel like her momentum has faltered as other queens have picked theirs up slightly.

4. Bosco

Of all the top five queens, it is Bosco whose performance feels the most unpredictable. On one hand, she has three wins – tied with one other queen as the competitor with the most maxi challenge wins. But on the other, she’s had some inconsistent runways and lost a LOT of lip syncs – and when the finale is likely to be a ball and a lip sync for the crown hybrid Bosco could be in trouble when up against the other Drag Race season 14 queens in the final five power ranking.

Bosco has become a fan fave, though. RuPaul and production aren’t stupid – and that fan love could do her absolute wonders in the high stakes final.

3. Daya Betty

Call me an agent of chaos, but if it was up to me right now and my name was HarrisonPaul – I’d crown Daya Betty. For services to great television! The Daya Betty story on Drag Race season 14 is unlike anything we’ve really had before in a finalist queen. Eliminated on her first episode, then brought back and steadily rising up the ranks to the final and getting herself a few wins on the way? Groundbreaking. She’s just had a really satisfying storyline, and picked up momentum right when she needed to. Her look on this week’s episode? GAGGED.

Determined and a great Drag Race “villain” archetype – it would just be so fun to see Daya take the crown, and unexpected. But I do think the two queens higher than her on this Drag Race season 14 power ranking are far more likely to emerge victorious.

2. Lady Camden

Our Lady! At this point, Camden is statistically the front runner thanks to her three wins, made even more important because they came later in the competition. Lady Camden is the underdog who quietly spent this season proving herself as an absolute threat – a fact that was admitted by the other queens. She’s arguably one of the best actors to ever step on the Drag Race stage. She’s really earned her spot in the final.

If the final is a lip sync smackdown for the crown, everyone should be very worried. Camden’s lip sync skills are unbelievably tight, and she can dance circles around the rest. A real threat!

1. Willow Pill

Whilst she hasn’t got the most wins or the best track record out of the five Drag Race season 14 finalists on this power ranking, I’m convinced that it will be Willow Pill who will still walk away with the crown and the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar. Why? She has IT. The x factor – the special thing that makes her feel exciting. You never know what she’s going to do next. From the moment she walked into the Werk Room in her Y2K ensemble and then did that Enya talent show performance, it felt like she had that extra thing that sets her apart from her other competitors. She would be such a unique and special winner for the franchise.

Take all that and then add in the fact that RuPaul adores and cherishes every thing she does, and I’d put bets on Willow Pill being the season 14 queen who takes the victory. We’ll have to wait two weeks to see if I’m right!
