Love Is Blind star Shake posts video about backlash from Netflix wedding with Deepti

‘I know I messed up’: Love Is Blind’s Shake says he’s ‘a good person’ and wants to be better

He says the show made him look worse than he was

The wedding of Shake and Deepti in season two of Love Is Blind was a rollercoaster of emotion and feelings. We’ve never been more proud of Deepti, choosing herself and ditching Shake, who had been constantly questioning how he felt about her and making comments about not finding her physically attractive. Then there was Shake’s reaction to the rejection, trying to play it off like he would have said no and wasn’t fussed – it was all very schoolboy who just got turned down by his crush.

The drama didn’t stop there. Everyone was shocked by Shake’s pretty immature reaction and then Deepti’s brother posted a lengthy statement calling Shake a “loser” and a “clown” who they “welcomed into our home and you saw it as an opportunity for clout”. Now, Shake has posted a video on Instagram explaining he knows he messed up, and has been getting lots of hate since the show aired.

In the video, he admitted to making mistakes during his time with Deepti, but tried to say the show made it look a lot worse than it actually was.  “Hello again. So I’ve been getting all kinds of messages, DMs, comments, emails – saying all kinds of stuff,” he began. “And I want you guys to know, I know I made some mistakes. I for sure did, and the way it kind of played out on TV was way worse than it even was. But, I know that I messed up in a lot of ways.”

He goes on to say he believes his friends would back him up that he’s a good person, and then asks for suggestions on how to be a better person. “I’m not perfect, I think I’m a good person,” he said. “I think if, you know, you asked someone who knew me they’d say ‘Shake’s a good guy, maybe not the greatest at relationships’. Yeah, maybe there’s a reason I’ve been single. So, let’s try and keep it constructive. I wanna be better. If you have a suggestion for how to make me better, let me know. Maybe keep all the hate to yourself for now – I don’t know, I’m a human.”

And guess who’s in the comments backing Shake up? Damian from season one. “💯💯💯 respect for this!” he commented. Take from that what you will. Another comment adds: “Maybe just don’t humiliate someone you ‘love’ on national TV. Doesn’t seem very hard to me.” Whilst another just asks him: “How was Nobu”.

Season two of Love Is Blind is available on Netflix now. The reunion episode is released on Netflix on Friday, March 4th. For all the latest Netflix news, drops, quizzes and memes like The Holy Church of Netflix on Facebook.
