This is where you recognise the cast of Netflix’s Single All The Way from

In a landmark (and stupidly overdue) move by Netflix, the first Christmas film to centre three gay men is now available to stream. Single All The Way surrounds characters Peter and his best pal Mike, who pretends to be his boyfriend for the benefit of his family.

Peter quickly learns that his mum, Carole, has plans to set him up with her spinning instructor James. The Netflix original promises to be a camp Christmas classic with an incredible cast.

Michael Urie (no relation to Brendan – I Googled it too) stars in the lead role, with Barry Bostwick, newcomer Philemon Chambers and living legend Jennifer Coolidge also featuring.

Introducing the main cast of Single All The Way – and here’s where you might recognise each of these legends from.

Michael Urie

Michael leads the cast as perpetually single Peter, on a not-at-all-stereotypical quest to get the family off his back this Christmas by roping in his best friend to act as his partner. He’s a massive millennial who loves wine and houseplants. But where have we seen him before?

He’s featured in a number of films and TV shows – but let’s face it, everyone knows him as Marc from Ugly Betty.

Most recently, he appeared in Swan Song alongside fellow cast member Jennifer Coolidge. The film had a limited release earlier in 2021.

Barry Bostwick

This film legend appears as Peter’s dad in Single All The Way. He’s best known for playing the ultra-normal Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Picture Show alongside Tim Curry.

Others may know him from Hannah Montana, Incredibles 2 and The Goldbergs.

Philemon Chambers

This is the first mainstream film role for actor Philemon Chambers (poor guy doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page yet), but super fans may know him from indie short Of Hearts And Castles, which premiered in 2020.

Philemon plays Peter’s best mate Nick, who is introduced as his boyfriend to mum Carole and dad Harold.

Luke Macfarlane

Luke is a living LEGEND of trashy Christmas films – honestly a hallmark of Hallmark. He starred in the ridiculously named A Shoe Addict’s Christmas, as well as The Mistletoe Promise and Christmas Land. You won’t have seen any of those, but that’s okay. Why not add them to the list?

The actor stars as aesthetically pleasing James – Carole’s spin class instructor who she’s particularly keen to pair up with her son.

It’s hard not to root for the guys to get together, forming an unlikely, kind of quirky couple we see all too often in festive films.

Kathy Najimy

A ‘90s film ICON. Our Kath plays the insatiable, overbearing Carole, and it’s impossible not to love her.

Old school Halloween fans will recognise her as Mary from Hocus Pocus, which she starred in alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler.

She’s also known for starring in Sister Act – and more recently Robot Chicken and Duncanville.

Jennifer Robertson

She’ll always be known as Jocelyn from Schitt’s Creek to me.

Jennifer stars as Peter’s sister in Single All The Way, having also starred in other original Ginny and Georgia, as well as Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Jennifer Coolidge

Saving the best till last – the actual people’s princess, American hun and all round superstar appears as Peter’s Aunt Sandy.

A cheesy festive classic just wouldn’t be the same without her – all of her moments are simply iconic.

Jennifer is best known for her role in Legally Blonde, but has previously featured in The Emoji Movie and A Cinderella Story among others.
