Can you guess the university from the phallic building?

Why does every uni seem to have at least one phallic building?

From clock towers to office blocks, architecture has been overrun with buildings that look like penises since the dawn of time.

Some even believe that these phallic buildings have encoded misogyny into our urban landscapes with feminist geographer Jane Darke going as far as to say: “Our cities are patriarchy written in stone, brick, glass and concrete.”

Universities in the UK also seem to all have some kind of phallic structure at their heart. We’ve collated nine of the most phallic buildings on UK campuses. Can you tell which university they belong to?

What’s for certain is that if Shrek and Donkey approached any of these buildings hoping to settle a land dispute with the owner, Shrek would surely say: “Do you think he’s compensating for something?”
