New Islander Danny Bibby accused of ‘racism’ after old Instagram comments are unearthed

People are asking for him to be removed from the villa

New Love Islander Danny Bibby has been accused of making “racist” remarks following fans uncovering an old comment he appeared to make on Instagram.

A post from 85 weeks ago sees a user comment on Danny’s post of a picture of himself saying “Champ šŸ‘ŠšŸ»” to which Danny appears to reply “My n****”.

The comment has now been deleted from his Instagram account.

ITV shared a comment with The Tab from Danny’s dad Richard in which he says his son does not have a racist bone in his body and apologises on his behalf for any offence caused.

He said: “Danny does not have a racist bone in his body and there were no racist intentions to this post. Although it was not done maliciously, it was a mistake. I absolutely apologise on his behalf for the offence this wording may have caused. That would never have been his intention.”

A number of Twitter users reposted the comment and demanded he be removed from the villa.

One user said: “We demand that the racist islander Danny is taken off the show immediately.”

And another wrote: “Sorry but new boy Danny is racist and they are making our queen KAZ GO ON A DATE WITH HIMMMMM???? Sorry but throw the casting crew and directors in the bin”.

However others argued the comment was not made in a context of racism. One user wrote: “Danny isnā€™t racist. The context isnā€™t racist. I donā€™t think he should be sent home for this, itā€™s unnecessary.”

Danny was briefly seen entering the villa last night and was set up to go on a date with Kaz. Danny is 25 years old and is from Wigan where he works as a plumber and clothing brand owner.
