Everyone’s losing it over this girl’s pronunciation of Caffé Nero on TikTok

Who would have thought that on the day we found out Nigella Lawson had been nominated for a BAFTA for saying “meecrowavvey”, there would be another mispronunciation to send the internet wild?

American TikToker Reagan Yorke gained 1.3m views for a video in which she tries out Caffé Nero for the first time.

But it wasn’t the fact she was perplexed by the smaller-sized cups or the concept of brown sauce that sent everyone on TikTok crazy. It was the way she pronounced the name of the coffee shop itself.

One follower commented, “Noooo the way that you pronounced ‘Nero’ actually made me sick,” while another said, “My hatred for Americans grows more and more everyday.”

Personally, I think this is the greatest mispronunciation since that Freeshavacadoo Vine back in 2016 and I can see “Caffé Nerooooo” living rent free in my head for a good while.

Reagan Yorke is a TikToker with 2.9m followers who dropped out of school and moved from LA to London to join The Wave House, a £5m country home packed full of influencers.

Reagan’s now taken it upon herself to review coffee shops, starting with Costa which she described as “like the Starbucks of the UK.” Hmmm.

She described Caffé Nero as like the Dunkin’ Donuts of the UK which is odd for two reasons: we have Dunkin’ Donuts and Caffé Nero is nothing like it.

Day Three of Reagan’s reviewing journey led her to the shocking revelation that “there’s only one Starbucks in the UK.”

We’re not sure about the factual accuracy of Reagan’s posts as there are actually 1,025 Starbucks coffee shops in the UK, but this doesn’t prevent her content from being absolutely golden
