Kem Cetinay, Munya Chawawa, and Katie Price announced for new Celebrity MasterChef series

Fair play this is a decent cast

Love Island star Kem Cetinay, parody rap superstar Munya Chawawa, and national treasure Katie Price have all been announced as part of the line-up for the new series of Celebrity MasterChef.

They’ll join erstwhile Blue warbler Duncan James, and Eastenders stars Rita Simons and Joe Swash when the series lands on BBC One this summer.

Happy Mondays maraca-shaker Bez will also attempt to cook on the show.

The Celebrity MasterChef 2021 line up in full:

  • Bez – Happy Mondays maraca player
  • Dion Dublin – former Aston Villa striker, now presents Homes Under the Hammer and appears as a pundit on Match of the Day 2
  • Duncan James – singer in Blue, and has also appeared in Hollyoaks
  • Gavin Esler – journalist, former presenter of Newsnight, and unsuccessful Change UK candidate
  • Joe Swash – former Eastenders star who has won both I’m a Celeb and Dancing on Ice
  • Johannes Radebe – dancer who was partnered with Caroline Quentin in series 18 of Strictly Come Dancing

  • Katie Price – author, model, and “media personality”
  • Kem Cetinay – former Love Island star
  • Megan McKenna – TOWIE and Celebrity Big Brother star

  • Melissa Johns – actor who played Imogen Pascoe in Coronation Street
  • Michelle Collins – actor who played Cindy Beale in EastEnders

  • Rita Simons – best known for playing Roxy Mitchell in EastEnders
  • Su Pollard – actor best known for role in 80s sitcom Hi-de-Hi!
  • Will Kirk – property restorer, star of BBC’s The Repair Shop

Previous winners of the celebrity cooking show include Olympic gold medallist (and obvious overachiever) Greg Rutherford, Angellica Bell, and former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt.

The final of this year’s MasterChef was postponed following the death of Prince Philip. Audiences were forced to wait until the following week to see Tom Rhodes take home the trophy.

Reacting to the news, Munya Chawawa said: “Can’t believe a jerk rice parody 2 years ago has led to this!”

“Barty Crease has a Netflix deal, Unknown P has signed to Atlantic and now Jonny Oliver is on Masterchef (kind of) – the trilogy is complete.”
