69 lyrics from your favourite childhood songs that you didn’t know were wildly inappropriate

Why were these played at my year six disco?!

It’s the year 2007, it’s a Friday. You’re on your way home from school and you haven’t a care in the world. The sun is shining, the windows are down and your top button is undone. Just as you thought life couldn’t get any better, the radio plays your favourite tune. “Mum,” you shout, “turn it up”.

And there you went, belting the lyrics “Oh I lie here in the wet patch, in the middle of the bed, I’m feeling pretty damn hard done by, I spent ages giving head”. Every lyric off by heart, screaming them out to your heart’s content. Woah hang on, what did you just shout? Who spent ages giving head, sorry? It certainly wasn’t my 11 year old self.

We all thought it was just harmless fun. But you thought wrong my friend. Have you ever actually taken the time to listen to what you were saying? Now that we’re older and wiser it’s time to take a look back on what can only be described as utter filth.

Boy was I naive, and I’m sure you were too.

1. Whistle – Flo Rida

Released: 2012

Most questionable lyric: “Girl I’m gonna show you how to do it, and we start real slow, you just put your lips together, and you come real close, can you blow my whistle baby”

Not quite sure why we ever thought that one was okay tbh. Innocent old us just thought it was about whistles, but how wrong we were.

2. Not Fair – Lily Allen

Most questionable lyric: “Picture this we were both butt naked, banging on the bathroom floor”
