Confirmed: Unis will be hit with two more weeks of strikes

74 universities will be affected by strike action at the end of this month

Universities across the country will be hit with a further two weeks of strikes, as UCU have announced 14 days of industrial action.

After eight days of strikes earlier in the academic year, staff at 74 universities will take action across the end of February and the start of March.

As disputes over pay, conditions, and pensions roll on, the union has threatened even more action to the end of the academic year if the disputes are not resolved.

UCU General Secretary Jo Grady said: “We have seen more members back strikes since the winter walkouts and this next wave of action will affect even more universities and students. If universities want to avoid further disruption they need to deal with rising pension costs, and address the problems over pay and conditions.”
