Did you think you’d already opened all of your Christmas presents? Well if you did you thought wrong, because there’s one massive one still left. It’s from Netflix and it comes in the form of season two of You. And before you begin frantically refreshing your Netflix homepage looking for it, here is the exact You season two release time, worldwide.

The new episodes are dropping on Boxing Day (December 26th). This is everything you need to know and when you need to prepare your laptop ready for the binging to commence.

What is season two of You about?

The new episodes see Joe moving to LA to start a new life under a new identity. He has a different name and a different girl to obsess over. The second season is based on the book “Hidden Bodies”.

The summary of the book says: “Joe Goldberg is no stranger to hiding bodies. In the past ten years, this thirty-something has buried four of them, collateral damage in his quest for love. Now he’s heading west to Los Angeles, the city of second chances, determined to put his past behind him.

“In Hollywood, Joe blends in effortlessly with the other young upstarts. He eats guac, works in a bookstore, and flirts with a journalist neighbour. But while others seem fixated on their own reflections, Joe can’t stop looking over his shoulder. The problem with hidden bodies is that they don’t always stay that way. They re-emerge, like dark thoughts, multiplying and threatening to destroy what Joe wants most: true love.

“And when he finds it in a darkened room in Soho House, he’s more desperate than ever to keep his secrets buried. He doesn’t want to hurt his new girlfriend—he wants to be with her forever. But if she ever finds out what he’s done, he may not have a choice.”

In an interview, Penn Badgley, who plays Joe, made it sound as though this season could be even more disturbing than the first. He said: “There are some things I’ve done with prosthetic bodies in this [new] season that were kind of nauseating as I did them, I will say that.”

Who is in the cast?

Penn Badgley is back as Joe, but Joe now has the new identity of Will Bettelheim. Also returning is Joe’s ex-girlfriend Candace Stone, played by Ambyr Childers.

Joe has a new love interest in season two, who is aptly called Love Quinn. New characters also include Love’s brother Forty, investigative reporter and neighbour of Joe, Delilah Alves, her sister Ellie Alves, rich and famous comedian Henderson, Joe has a new nemesis in Will, shop manager Calvin and Love’s friends Lucy and Gabe.
