Caroline Flack offered therapy by ITV after she steps down from Love Island

ITV were criticised for how they’ve treated her

ITV have offered to pay for therapy for Caroline Flack, following her departure from Love Island.

Caroline met with ITV executives earlier this week, where they expressed concerns for her welfare.

She declined the offer for therapy.

ITV’s offer comes after they were criticised for the different way they handled Caroline’s departure to Ant McPartlin’s drink driving conviction.

Insiders at ITV were apparently furious Ant had been supported whereas Caroline had not even received a phone call.

Caroline stepped down as the host of the upcoming winter Love Island series earlier this week and today Laura Whitmore was announced as the new presenter.

Caroline left the presenting role as she was arrested for alleged assault of her boyfriend last week.

A TV source said: “Producers know they have a duty of care to Caroline. They already make sure Love Island contestants are offered counselling and therapy if they need it and Caroline has been offered the same.

“She had felt let down by them after being forced to walk away from the show.”

Caroline is also allegedly disappointed with ITV’s treatment after she defended the show’s after care of Love Islanders.

A friend of hers said: “Caroline literally took the series on her shoulders and defended the show so much in the wake of all the controversy over duty of care to ex-Islanders.

“She represented the show at Mike [Thalassitis]’s funeral and was also there for his family. Bosses heaped so much pressure on her to get the right messages across which she gladly took on as she loves the show so much.”

Caroline is currently staying in a hotel following the alleged assault and is constantly with friends and family.

As part of her bail conditions Caroline is not allowed to contact her boyfriend Lewis Burton. Lewis has been spotted back at his parents house as it’s been reported he has temporarily moved out of Caroline’s house.

Lewis also posted a loved up pic of Caroline and him to his Instagram story on Wednesday with a love heart emoji.
