The long awaited Friends reunion special is apparently finally in the works, 15 years after the show came to an end.

All six of the main cast are said to be in talks with HBO executives right now, discussing options for the reunion special.

Reportedly, one option is that the reunion will be unscripted. However, the talks with HBO are said to be at a very early stage – so it's definitely not a festive special, or anything coming to our screens imminently.

Jennifer Anniston initially sparked rumours of the reunion after she joined Instagram last month and posted a picture with all six of her old costars.

The whole gang, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry had reunited – a rare sighting – so naturally the internet freaked out.

Then she appeared on the Ellen show and said that she and the others were "working on something" when asked about a potential Friends reunion.

She said: "We would love for there to be something, but we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something."

Friends' first episode aired 25 years ago and the series officially finished on the 6th May 2004. If the reunion happens, it will be the first official reunion involving the whole cast in 15 years. Why such a long hiatus, you ask? Guess they were on a break.
