Six men arrested over 21-year-old backpacker missing in Cambodia

Amelia Bambridge disappeared after a beach party

Police are questioning six men over the disappearance of a British backpacker in Cambodia.

21-year-old Amelia Bambridge went missing on Wednesday after a beach party on Koh Rong island.

However, police have admitted they are "looking for a body now", and hold "little hope" that Amelia is alive.

As 200 police and soldiers search for Amelia, from Worthing in Sussex, the local governor said it was most likely she had drowned.

Travelling alone for the first time, Amelia flew to Vietnam on 27th September before going on to Cambodia, where she stayed at the Nest Beach Club hostel.

The 21-year-old went to the beach party – on Police Beach – with friends she met at the hostel.

She was reported missing after failing to check out of her hostel, and was last seen at 3am on Thursday.

After the party Amelia's handbag, containing her purse, credit cards and phone, were discovered on the beach. Her backpack, containing a phone, headphones, a lighter and a watch, was discovered on rocks near the beach.

The six men arrested are believed to work in local bars.

Her father, Phil, has flown out to Cambodia. He believes Amelia didn't drown, saying: "I think someone's taken her. I don't think she's had an accident, if she'd had an accident she would have been found"

"I'm not doing very well," he said, adding it would take a "miracle" to find Amelia.
