Greggs are opening drive-thru stores all across the UK

I must be dead and now in heaven

What's the only thing on this Earth better than the warm embrace of a Greggs sausage roll? The answer: a warm embrace of a Greggs sausage roll, without even having to get out of your car to buy one.

Greggs have today confirmed they are looking to open drive-thru versions of their high street shops at various locations across the country.

The stores are likely to be in motorway service stations and shopping centres, hoping to cash in on rush-hour commuters who will soon have their car's interior covered in flaky pastry.

This news follows a successful drive-thru pilot scheme in Manchester, where people were able to purchase all their regular Greggs favourites, including steak bakes, sandwiches and cakes.

Greggs CEO Roger Whiteside told the Newcastle Chronicle:

“Customers are very taken by the idea of not having to leave their cars. We wondered if they would be welcoming to do this, and it’s been very positive – I don’t understand why we haven’t done this years ago.

“We are actively looking for more sites but we will be competing against others looking for more sites."

Drive-thrus now, nationwide delivery service next please.
