You know that trip to Amsterdam you always bang on about doing?
Introducing your true Easter saviour, Spring Break Amsterdam Festival
You’ve just got home for your Easter holidays. Your mum’s food may cushion your immediate withdrawal from uni and the nightlife you’ve spent months curating. Sure, you get to sleep in your own bed and, sure, you get to eat an offensive amount of chocolate and no one can complain.
But you also have imminent assignments and exams, and you’re already being nagged about chores and where your next bit of work experience is going to be. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Nathan Reed, founder of MEGA Events which runs multiple music festivals, set up Spring Break Amsterdam Festival because he was fed up of the dreary atmosphere over the Easter holiday in the UK. He’s offering two tickets to help a pair escape the greyness of the UK. You just need to post this story on a friend’s wall and email [email protected] with the reason you deserve to go together.
Although the event takes its name from US parties that happen in the same period, Nathan told The Tab: “It’s pretty much the antithesis of what happens stateside. Replace foam parties and EDM with forward thinking line-ups, Elrow-style shows and the bewildering backdrop of Amsterdam and you’re starting to get the picture.”
Headliners include Kano, Sub Focus, My Nu Leng, Redlight, Felon and more, in venues across the city.
Emily, a third year at Leeds who went last year, told The Tab: “Unlike your usual festival experience, you’re not waking up on the floor of a tent that’s practically falling apart and the sound of someone being sick just to the right of you. Instead you wake up in a nice, comfy bed in the heart of Amsterdam.
“That’s without mentioning the fact you can take a shower whenever you want, change outfits and there’s not a bit of mud in sight.”
Emily added: “There’s no aimless waiting for them to come back from whatever tent they passed out in. You and your friends can go grab some breakfast before deciding whether you’re gonna go and explore Dam or head to one of the Day parties.”
