You can now order an Uber to your friend’s location

No more pesky addresses

Uber have just released an update which allows you to order a taxi to your friend’s exact location.

The new feature, which uses the geolocation on your mates’ phones, means you won’t have to waste time inputting addresses or looking for the right house number.

Instead, the app will simply send a message to your friend requesting their location, and provide your driver with the info once they’ve accepted.

Not only will the new feature make it easier to meet up without an exact address, it also has important ramifications for people looking to get safely back to their friends on a night out.

Other new updates include allowing customers to see different pricings before they book a car, as well as a “shortcuts” feature for people who take the same route regularly.

Announcing the change, Uber said: “Since our last redesign in 2012, our app has become complicated and harder to navigate.

“To recapture the clean and simple aesthetic of the original Uber experience – without sacrificing the choice our riders now expect – we rebuilt a faster, smarter rider app completely from the ground up.

“Gone are the days when everyone’s app looks the same. The new Uber experience is re-imagined around a simple question – Where to?”
