| UPDATED Skins skins cast skins now

Whether you were in love with Cook or lusting after Effy, your adolescent self was probably so familiar with the Skins cast hey may as well have been family.

But time passes, and now the Skins stars we knew and loved have moved on (in some cases) to bigger things. Here’s what the most iconic cast members are doing now, almost 10 years after the first episode aired.

Kaya Scodelario (played Effy)

Kaya, who played the oft sought-after Effy, is now 24, married, and expecting her first child. Since leaving Skins in 2010, she has appeared in four Plan B music videos, dated and broken up with co-star Jack O’Connell (Cook), and starred in The Maze Runner.

She’ll have a starring role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which will be released in 2017.

Hannah Murray (played Cassie)

Oh… wow. Hannah played cooky Cassie, whose onscreen romance with Sid was as tragic as it was sweet. Hannah is now 27, and is most well-known for playing Gilly in Game of Thrones.

She also won best actress for her leading role in the film “Bridgend” at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Jack O’Connell (played Cook)

Jack, who is now 25, has had a very successful career since Skins. He’s starred in films such as Starred Up, Unbroken, and ’71, and he received the Rising Star BAFTA in 2015.

He was last seen alongside George Clooney as Money Monster, and will next star in the Netflix original series “Godless”. That right there, my friends, is what you call a legend.

Nicholas Hoult (played Tony)

Nicholas has had one of the most impressive careers of any the Skins cast alumni, starring in Hollywood blockbusters such as the X-Men series and Mad Max: Fury Road.

He was also a voice actor in the game Fable 3 in 2010, and won the Breakout Teen Choice Award in 2013 for his role as R in the film Warm Bodies. Nicholas also dated Jennifer Lawrence for a bit – we don’t think Michelle would be happy.

Joe Dempsie (played Chris)

Joe played “pillhead” Chris, famously known for popping Viagra and having an affair with his teacher. Since leaving Skins in 2008, he has appeared in Doctor Who, Merlin, and This Is England.

His most famous role, however, was as tough bastard Gendry in Game of Thrones. He now lives with Larissa Wilson, who played Jal.

April Pearson (played Michelle)

After two seasons of playing Tony’s long-suffering girlfriend, April returned to theatre in 2009. She’s dropped off since then, although she has appeared in Casualty and, ahem, a Wombats music video.

Lily Loveless (played Naomi)

Lily has mainly stuck to TV since leaving the Skins cast, appearing  in Sarah Jane’s Adventures, Wallander, and several music videos.

Dev Patel (played Anwar)

Dev Patel played Anwar in Skins, but went on to have a huge break in the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire.

His film career has since taken off, with starring roles in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Last Airbender and The Man Who Knew Infinity, to name just a few.

Luke Pasqualino (played Freddie)

Luke hasn’t been dead in the water like his Skins counterpart. He starred in BBC 2 “comedy” Miranda, and can now be seen playing D’Artagnan in The Musketeers.

Ollie Barbieri (played JJ)

Ollie played magic-loving JJ in Skins. Since leaving, he has most notably appeared as Enrique in Anuvahood.

Mike Bailey (played Sid)

No longer a virgin or stealing his friend’s coffin, Mike has been relatively off the radar since leaving Skins. His last project was We Are The Freaks, a British comedy set in the aftermath of Margaret Thatcher’s resignation.

Mitch Hewer (played Maxxie)

Mitch starred in Britannia High, but hasn’t starred in much since – except for Take That musical Never Forget in 2009. He’s now rocking a pretty impressive beard and making YouTube videos.

Lisa Backwell (played Pandora)

Lisa played kooky Panda, Effy’s rather odd best friend. After her stint with the Skins cast, she ditched acting, and is now studying at York. Wowzers.

Merveille Lukeba (played Thomas)

Merveille was in love with Panda in what would be the saddest and cutest relationship of the whole show. He has starred in the TV show Inspector Lewis since.

Larissa Wilson (played Jal)

Larissa has appeared in Holby City, The Town and Suspects, and now lives with fellow Skins alumnus Joe Dempsie. We’re not sure if she still plays the clarinet.

Will Merrick (played Alo)

Will had an impressive theatre career even before joining the Skins cast, starring in Amadeus, Death of a Salesman and The History Boys.

He returned to the theatre and TV to star in Peter Pan and Merlin after leaving Skins, and also starred alongside Domnhall Gleeson in 2014 time travel rom-com About Time.

Freya Mavor (played Mini)

The 22-year-old was nominated for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards in 2012 for her role as feisty Mini McGuinness. She now has a successful modelling career and has been seen hanging around with Harry Styles. Poor Alo.

Kathryn Prescott (played Emily)

Since Skins, Kathryn has starred in US drama Reign, short-lived MTV show Finding Carter and (like many on this list) Casualty.

Megan Prescott (played Katie)

Since ditching douchebag footballer Danny, Megan has gone on to to star in Holby City and had an unexpected stint as a professional bodybuilder.

She was also ranked #87 in afterellen.com’s Hot 100 Women in 2011 – which is strange, considering her identical twin wasn’t on the list.
