It’s official, we’re leaving the EU

The result came through early this morning

Britain has voted to leave the EU, following months of tense campaigning.

Young people in particular were for voting Remain, and they have fallen on the wrong side of the political aisle yet again. Despite the hundreds of economists, scientists, historians, organisations and businesses that advocated staying in the EU, the vote has come through for Brexit.

Britain has been a member of the European community in some form since 1973, when it joined the European Economic Community. Trade deals and agreements signed since then will need to be renegotiated.
