These tweets show how violent Russian fans really are

‘If you go to football, you have to be prepared to fight’

Clashes between Russian and England fans are continuing for the sixth day in a row. They first fought in Marseille on Friday, ahead of their game on Saturday which ended in a 1-1 draw. Since then, hooligans have been charged, jailed and deported out of the country on buses. Other fans have been left in hospital from fights in the stands and on the streets.

Russian MPs have defended, even endorsed, their actions. There’s an obvious clash of cultures, and the footage of tear gas being used by police and Russian fans using head cameras to film themselves on the rampage are shocking. But what’s really going through their heads? Tab reporter Sam Farley spoke to two Russian Ultras in a bar in Lille last night.
