Kody chose to follow his father and he now too has plural marriages &#8211; four in fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His four wives are Meri, Jenelle, Christine, and Robyn, but since polygamy is not legal in the US, he is only legally married to his most recent wife, Robyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Kudos to Kody Brown for following through on his Morman beliefs.<\/p>&mdash; Kate (@kayytee21) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kayytee21\/status\/48181827994791936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 17, 2011<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kody and his wives belong to the Apostolic United Brethren church<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Kody and his four wives belong to an offshoot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their sect, in particular, is called the Apostolic United Brethren church, which recognises the Morman church as a legitimate one but they don&#8217;t agree with it banning polygamy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AUB church has made sure to distance itself from the FLDS (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ) as it still believes that wives must be 18 to get married and may choose their own husbands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CWG5mihswwO\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Their church believes polygamy is &#8220;God&#8217;s desire&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Apostolic United Brethren church that all of the Browns belong to believes that polygamy is one of God&#8217;s desires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AUB belive Mormans should never have banned the practice and should be trying to do everything that they can to keep it alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, in their religion polygamy is only one way, meaning women cannot have multiple husbands.
