Julia Roberts has had a highly successful career in Hollywood, and is nearly always seen with a smile on her face. However, in her personal life, the star has suffered tragedy, losing both her mom and half-sister in the space of 12 months. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hollywood<\/a> actress went through a tough 12 months between 2014-2015, first, losing her half-sister Nancy at the age of 37, and then dealing with her mother’s tragic passing from lung cancer<\/a> in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

In Feburary 2014, the movie<\/a> star lost her half-sister, Nancy Motes, to a suspected drug overdose at the age of 37.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two shared the same mother, Betty Lou, but had different fathers. At the time of her death, Nancy was hoping to follow in her elder sister’s footsteps in the acting world and had been working as a TV<\/a> producer on the hit show Glee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Understandably, Roberts remained quiet, publically, for a while, until she opened up in an interview<\/a> with The Wall Street Journal, published in April 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
