There’s always some really terrifying sights to see during Love Is Blind, but none more so this year than the absolute state of John’s apartment.

The horror’s of the mouldy fridge, the insane amount of dirt in the shower, the *very* questionable stains on top of the bin, it was honestly just vile. I mean, you literally know your apartment is going to be filmed so why not just make sure it at least looks semi respectable?!

Whilst John seemed embarrassingly unashamed of the state of his living space during Love Is Blind, he has now spoken out about it and admitted that watching it back was a “huge wake up call” for him.

Speaking on Instagram, he shared: “All right. So you guys have officially seen the worst shit you’ve ever seen. That that fridge is unexplainable. I honestly have no excuse for this other than maybe toxic mould exposure, but uh, I’m a little glad this happened in a way because it was a huge wake-up call. It was disgusting and I’m sorry you guys had to bear witness to it.”

He then shared some pictures of his current apartment, adding: “Throwing in a little redemption montage here at my current apartment just to prove to you guys that I have learned to clean and I am no longer living in a biohazard.”

As for that line he said during the episode about the fact that he doesn’t need to clean the shower because it cleans him, he revealed that he “stole this joke from New Girl.” He then shared a clip from New Girl, where Nick says: “No, I don’t wash the towel. The towel washes me. Who washes the towel?” I’m still not entirely that’s a joke honestly.

For all the latest reality TV cast member news, scandals, gossip and updates – like Reality Shrine on Facebook.

[1358
1528,1438
post-65757","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-love-is-blind","tag-netflix
https://realitytvshrine.com/realityshrine/2026/10/02/it-was-a-huge-wake-up-call-john-addresses-his-mould-infested-apartment-on-love-is-blind/
{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"NewsArticle
It was a huge wake-up call’: John addresses his mould-infested apartment on Love Is Blind
http://thetab.com/realityshrine/2026/10/02/it-was-a-huge-wake-up-call-john-addresses-his-mould-infested-apartment-on-love-is-blind/
@type":"WebPage","@id":"http://thetab.com/realityshrine/2026/10/02/it-was-a-huge-wake-up-call-john-addresses-his-mould-infested-apartment-on-love-is-blind/
https://cdn.realitytvshrine.com/uploads/2026/10/Ellie-New-Featured-Images-24-150x150.png
@type":"ImageObject
[{"@type":"Person
Ellie Ring
Ellie Ring
@type":"Organization
["love is blind","netflix
