25 year old Todd Meadows, the youngest cast member on Deadliest Catch<\/a>, sadly died on February 25th following a tragic accident on a boat.<\/p>\n

Captain Rick Sheldford announced the news in a statement, writing: \u201cFebruary 25, 2026 was the most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady on the Bering Sea. We lost our brother, Todd Meadows.<\/p>\n

\u201cTodd was the newest member of our crew, he quickly became family. His love for fishing and his strong work ethic earned everyone\u2019s respect right away. His smile was contagious, and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck hailer is something we will carry with us always.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cTodd\u2019s love for his children, his family, and his life was evident in everything he did. He worked hard, loved deeply, and brought joy to those around him. Right now, our hearts are broken in a way that words can\u2019t fully express. We ask that you lift Todd\u2019s children and family in prayer and keep them in your thoughts as they face the days ahead without him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Captain Rick added: \u201cTodd will forever be part of this boat, this crew, and this brotherhood. Though we lost him far too soon, his legacy will live on through his children and in every memory we carry of him. Rest easy brother, till we meet again.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the\u00a0\u00a0United States Coast Guard Arctic District told\u00a0PEOPLE<\/a>: \u201cCoast Guard watchstanders at the Arctic District command center in Juneau received notification from the fishing vessel Aleutian Lady, reporting that a crew member by the name of Todd Meadows fell overboard approximately 170 miles north of Dutch Harbor.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was recovered unresponsive by the crew approximately ten minutes later. First aid and attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful, and the crew transported the deceased to Dutch Harbor. As the nation\u2019s leading marine safety organization, the Coast Guard investigates marine casualties and accidents to uncover their causes and initiate necessary corrective actions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Todd’s mother, Angela, also requested that none of the footage of his death is aired as filming was taking place when the accident occurred.<\/p>\n

She told TMZ in a statement following his passing: “We don\u2019t want to see any footage from the accident and do not want Discovery to air any of that footage or make money off of our son\u2019s death. We hope they only air good things of Todd on that boat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Todd Meadows also left behind three young sons, with the mother of his children sharing a statement following his death on Deadliest Catch.<\/p>\n

She wrote: \u201cI don\u2019t have words; nothing I do or say will bring you back. Not only were you my children\u2019s father, but you were my best friend. No matter what terms we were on, we always came to each other for comfort, and no one could understand why but us. I\u2019m so mad, I\u2019m mad at the world, myself and you, life is not fair.<\/p>\n

“You have been working so hard to prove you could be the man I knew you were. I know how much you loved me and the boys, and I just hope you knew how much I loved you, and I never stopped loving you. You passed doing what you loved, and that brings me a little bit of comfort knowing that.\u201d<\/p>\n
