And, anyone claiming there\u2019s a neat, finished \u201ccure found\u201d ending is getting ahead of reality.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2131\" data-end=\"2474\">Jeff\u2019s son Lucas has Creatine Transporter Deficiency (CTD), a rare genetic disorder that affects how the brain accesses creatine.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2131\" data-end=\"2474\">Speaking on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jpf02hVkn_c&amp;t=250s\">The Iced Coffee Hour<\/a> in March 2025, Jeffrey said that Lucas started presenting signs of CTD at eight months old. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DQeyvQviR2e\/\">On Instagram<\/a>, he explained it took two years before a diagnosis was found.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2131\" data-end=\"2474\">There isn\u2019t an FDA-approved cure or treatment that fully fixes CTD at this time, which is exactly why research funding matters so much.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2476\" data-end=\"2964\">What Jeff has done is pour rocket fuel on the \u201cwe need answers\u201d side of the story. A California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.cirm.ca.gov\/2025\/08\/15\/winner-of-beast-games-becomes-champion-for-his-sons-rare-disease\/\">feature<\/a> describes him as using the Beast Games win to fund research aimed at helping find a cure for his son\u2019s rare disease.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2476\" data-end=\"2964\">And interviews about his post-<a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/realityshrine\/2026\/01\/19\/wait-beast-games-star-jesses-son-already-won-500000-from-a-mrbeast-youtube-challenge\/\">Beast Games<\/a> plans consistently frame the money as research support and momentum, not a miracle pill that already exists.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2966\" data-end=\"3237\">So if you\u2019re wondering whether Jeff \u201cbought a cure,\u201d the honest answer is: that isn\u2019t how rare-disease science works.
