During season six episode two, she spilt some seriously raw truths about what life was like with her ex, and let\u2019s just say, it doesn\u2019t sound like much of a partnership.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"234\" data-end=\"598\">From doing the heavy lifting as a parent to reflecting on her divorce years later, Heather\u2019s words were nothing short of savage. She admitted during RHOSLC:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"913\">&#8220;I look at that era, it was really, really, really hard\u2026 I acted like it was perfect and normal\u2026 and I was so fine\u2026 But I was gritting my teeth the whole time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"915\" data-end=\"1160\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/2024\/07\/09\/heather-gays-fans-barely-recognize-her-after-weight-loss-shots-changed-her-life\/\">Heather<\/a>, her ex never once had custody of the kids. &#8220;My husband never had custody of the children,&#8221; she said. &#8220;He never had them overnight. I had them 100 per cent of the time. And his involvement was fun dad visits once a week.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1527\">She also opened up about the pressure she felt from her Mormon upbringing, where raising &#8220;perfect&#8221; kids was seen as her responsibility.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1527\">&#8220;The kids can\u2019t get screwed up\u2026 that would be my fault,&#8221; she explained. It\u2019s clear Heather was carrying the entire load, even after their separation, and she reflects on just how much she sacrificed during those years in episode two.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1529\" data-end=\"1806\">This season is especially emotional as Heather\u2019s youngest daughter, Annabelle, prepares to leave home.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1529\" data-end=\"1806\">The milestone forced her to look back at her journey as a single parent and acknowledge both the exhaustion and strength it took to hold everything together.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1529\" data-end=\"1806\">She explained to <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/2025\/09\/25\/erm-bronwyn-just-dished-on-her-real-job-before-real-housewives-of-salt-lake-city\/\">Bronwyn Newport<\/a>: &#8220;I&#8217;m really exhausted and I can&#8217;t wait for Annabelle to graduate.&#8221; Heather also said: &#8220;Annabelle actually said it to me. The pair were married for 11 years before divorcing around 2015. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/rhoslcs-heather-gays-book-bad-mormon-biggest-revelations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Us Weekly<\/a>, &#8220;Heather and Billy tied the knot just three and a half months after they began dating.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"2185\">Billy comes from what Heather described as &#8220;Mormon royalty,&#8221; with deep family ties and a super wealthy background, but she has been clear that none of that translated into actual support in their marriage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"2185\">&#8220;The Gay family is worth billions, so I basically married into Mormon royalty,&#8221; she explained per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifeandstylemag.com\/posts\/who-is-rhoslc-star-heather-gays-ex-husband-bill-gay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Life &amp; Style<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2187\" data-end=\"2454\">She\u2019s previously said that despite being married, Billy never took the kids overnight and instead played more of a &#8220;fun dad&#8221; role. Meanwhile, Heather was left to juggle everything.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2187\" data-end=\"2454\">That apparently included work, parenting, and maintaining the image of perfection expected in her community.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2730\">Now, years later, Heather isn\u2019t afraid to call things out as they were. She was also transparent during a Watch What Happens Live with <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/2025\/09\/09\/andy-cohen-just-savagely-clapped-back-at-huda-again-after-that-love-island-reunion-drama\/\">Andy Cohen<\/a> episode back in 2020 when asked what her ex thinks of her being on RHOSLC.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2730\">Heather said: &#8220;He&#8217;s been supportive in his own way. But, when it first came out, the trailer, he said &#8216;real classy&#8217; thumbs down emoji&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2730\">Five years ago, she also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bravotv.com\/the-daily-dish\/rhoslc-helped-heather-gay-get-over-her-divorce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Bravo<\/a> more details about her ex. Heather explained how he felt about the show: &#8220;He\u2019s a devout Mormon, and it\u2019s a huge departure from his core values.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2730\">&#8220;He\u2019s nervous about how it\u2019ll affect me as a mother and our children. But you know, he\u2019s letting me do it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2730\">&#8220;He supports us financially and emotionally, but I raise the kids and they\u2019re with me 100 per cent of the time.
