It seems appearing on reality TV shows runs in the family as MAFS Australis star Abbie Chatfield’s mum is starring in the new season of The Golden Bachelor Australia.<\/p>\n

Her mum 64 year old Laura has been confirmed as a contestant on The Golden Bachelor Australia, which has the exact same premise as The Bachelor but with people who are going into their later years.<\/p>\n

Laura will be competing against her fellow co-stars to try and win the heart of widower, Barry Myrden.<\/p>\n

Abbie Chatfield shared the exciting news on Monday, writing: “Can finally tell you my gorgeous mum is on The Golden Bachelor.”<\/p>\n

Abbie also appeared in the 2019 American version of The Bachelor, but was rejected by Matt Agnew during the dramatic finale.<\/p>\n

As for the man of the Golden Bachelor Australia, friends of Barry say he’s finally ready to look for love again.<\/p>\n

A friend told Daily Mail Australia: “Bear is always complaining that his boys are saying he’s bringing around the wrong kind of girls that are just too young and hot for him.<\/p>\n

“We were always saying he needed to be put on a show like MAFS, so seeing him up for the Bachelor role is no surprise.”<\/p>\n

And it seems the introduction of Barry could be a step in the right direction for the series, with an insider adding: “He’s not your usual reality TV type.<\/p>\n

“He’s charming, intelligent and has really lived a full life. He’s been through love, loss and now he’s ready to open his heart again. Women are going to adore him.”<\/p>\n
