The early and mid 2000s really were an absolutely wild time for reality TV in the UK, and it seems like pretty much anything could be made, regardless of how controversial it was.<\/p>\n

One of these shows was Fat Families where host Steve Miller would observe and help overweight families improve their eating habits and lose weight.<\/p>\n

But as was the case with many of these earlier weight loss shows, the host seemed to revel in making fun of the families, introducing one episode by saying: “Watch out massive fatties, I\u2019m coming to get you.”<\/p>\n

Despite the backlash that Fat Families received, Steve Miller told the Daily Mail<\/a> that there’s “f*ck all” that he regrets doing or saying on the show.<\/p>\n

He explained: “There is f*ck all that I regret when doing that show. Nothing whatsoever, not one single regret.<\/p>\n

“I loved it and it helped people and the results were evident, you know, whilst I was around, people lost a lot of weight.”<\/p>\n

He continued: ‘I’m like the human weight loss jab, at the current time, that’s what I am. They should have me playing 24 f***ing 7 on that telly, I’m telling you. Then the nation wouldn’t need to spend lots of money on those Ozempic’s and God knows what.’<\/p>\n

Steve continued with his tirade, saying: “The problem is in the UK we’ve made it the culture where we kind of sing ‘if you’re happy and you’re fat, clap your hands’ and we kind of rejoice if we see some big plus-size model and we’re all supposed to shout, oh yippee you look fabulous.<\/p>\n

“Well, I’ve got words. You don’t actually look fabulous. Gargantuan isn’t great. You don’t look glam and gargantuan.<\/p>\n

“I believe the vast majority of people believe that. I engage with fat people, very fat people, every single day, and they’re always telling me, ‘do you know what? You’re right, you’re practical, you’re down to earth.'”<\/p>\n

I’m absolutely certain that’s exactly what they say…<\/p>\n
