There’s nothing like having a nice bonding moment with your cat, but one woman who admitted to being addicted to licking and then eating her cats fur has taken a bit too far…<\/p>\n

During a 2013 episode of My Strange Addiction<\/a>, self proclaimed cat lady Lisa explained that she was addicted to eating her cats hair, and revealed the habit had been going on for 15 years.<\/p>\n

She explained in the episode that she licks the fur, then balls it up with her fingers, then chews and swallows it. Delightful.<\/p>\n

Despite Lisa believing the habit is helping her health, doctors told her during the My Strange Addiction episode that it could cause severe gastrointestinal bleeds from ulcers and lead to life threatening obstructions in the bowels.<\/p>\n

Lisa described the texture of the fur being her favourite part of eating it, describing it as\u00a0 “soft and puffy like cotton candy,” when she’s licking it before it turns into a more “felt-like” texture when she puts it in her mouth.<\/p>\n

As for why she even started grooming her cat in the first place? Well, she saw it as an act of “parental love” towards her cats.<\/p>\n

Fast forward ten years later, and Lisa revealed that not only is she still licking and eating cat far, but she bought an additional four cats for more fur variation. Yes really.<\/p>\n

She admitted: “It’s a decade later, and I’m still addicted to eating cat hair.” As for the amount of fur that Lisa has now consumed over 20 years since starting her habit? It’s estimated to be well over 7,000 hairballs, with enough fur ingested to cover a basketball court.<\/p>\n

Those poor cats.<\/p>\n
