Various RuPaul’s Drag Race<\/a> queens have gone on to quit the world of drag for various reason, so let’s have a look at all of the former cast member who have left that world behind.<\/p>\n

Rebecca Glasscock<\/h2>\n

Rebecca made it all the way to the top three in season one, however following her exit from the show she later decided to permanently quit drag.<\/p>\n

She did briefly come out of retirement during a special appearance in season 10, which featured season one queens to commemorate 10 years of the show.<\/p>\n

She told Instinct in 2001: ”\u00a0I had a lot of fun being Rebecca for many years. She gave me the confidence that I didn’t have as a young gay, and she allowed me to express myself artistically and tap into many different talents.”<\/p>\n

“I traveled all over and met many wonderful people along the way. In 2016, I reached a point in my life where Rebecca needed to step aside to allow Javier to grow and blossom.”<\/p>\n

Stacy Layne Matthews<\/h2>\n

Stacy came out as trans following her time on RuPaul’s Drag Race, but later announced her decision to quit drag due to her mental health.<\/p>\n

She emotionally admitted: “I let my mind and body get the best of me. I let fear and anxiety take over my life. I have given myself a reputation that I never planned.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was stronger than I am. I put on a smile for a long time. I took care of everyone else over the years and lost myself in the process. And, in the end, I felt the bitter side of generosity.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI\u2019ve done what I could but went the wrong way in doing so. I\u2019m a nice person who has been broken. I let negativity destroy what little joy I had left. I\u2019ve never felt so alone in my life. I don\u2019t know how to change people\u2019s minds about what they think of me. I\u2019m tired.\u201d<\/p>\n

Honey Mahogany<\/h2>\n

Season five star Honey Mahogany transitioned after appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race and moved away from drag in order to pursue a political career.<\/p>\n

She explained that the appearing on the show helped her to create a bigger platform, saying: “I am really proud of the work that I have been able to do, and fulfilled by that work. If I was just doing drag like I was at that time, I don\u2019t know if I would feel that same way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robbie Turner<\/h2>\n

Out of the all RuPaul’s Drag Race stars who have gone on to quit drag, Robbie Turner probably has to be the most infamous on this list.<\/p>\n

In case you need a little refresher, they tweeted in April 2018 that they’d just survived a car accident, but that her Uber driver had sadly passed away.<\/p>\n

However, it was then discovered a few days later that her car accident never happened, and Uber confirmed that none of their drivers had passed away.<\/p>\n

Robbie issued an official apology on Instagram and has never returned to drag or public life since.<\/p>\n

Tamisha Iman<\/h2>\n

Tamisha Iman is the most recent RuPaul’s Drag Race queen to announcer her departure from the world of drag.<\/p>\n

She announced on her Instagram: “It\u2019s been 4 long months since my last post. And if I\u2019m being honest, I\u2019ve written and deleted this message a dozen times. But today \u2014 after reflection, healing, and a quiet return to myself \u2014 I finally found the words.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor over 37 years, I gave my heart, body, and soul to an industry that shaped me, saved me, and scarred me all at once. The ride was wild, beautiful, painful, and glorious.<\/p>\n

“And while I saw the end coming long before it arrived, I held on\u2026 for you. For the love you showed me when I couldn\u2019t find it for myself. For the way you lifted me when I didn\u2019t think I had anything left to give.”<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cYour love made this rollercoaster of a career worth every twist, turn, and tear. But now, as this chapter slows to a stop, I want you to know this: I am not done. I\u2019m just shifting lanes \u2014 from the spotlight to the studio.<\/p>\n

“From performer to producer. I\u2019ve found a new kind of peace, a new kind of purpose \u2014 building something powerful for the next generation, and telling stories on my own terms.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019ve ever stood by me, rooted for me, or whispered a prayer for me\u2026 thank you. You made this journey magical. Truly.<\/p>\n
