Ace and Chelley aren’t hiding the fact that they knew each other before finally coupling up together on Love Island USA<\/a>, with the pair revealing exactly how it impacted them.<\/p>\n

In a joint interview with Variety<\/a>, Ace admitted: “It\u2019s no secret that Chelley and I knew each other before the experience.<\/p>\n

“We had a conversation that went, \u2018I know who you are. You know who I am, but that doesn\u2019t mean we gotta be coupled up together right away. We\u2019re here to explore and find our partner.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his connection with Chelley on Love Island USA, Ace decided to recouple with Amaya, explaining: “I wanted to do that with Amaya and see where things could go.<\/p>\n

“I was trying to get to know Amaya more, and that\u2019s where my head was at.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ace also addressed criticism that he was being “strategic” by recoupling with Chelley, saying: ”\u00a0I\u2019ve already had a following coming into this, and I didn\u2019t want to come in with that entertainer mindset of doing whatever to get attention.<\/p>\n

“It wasn\u2019t that. It was me being open and communicating to the fellas, \u2018We have to communicate more if you want to talk to a person.<\/p>\n

“Let them know if you\u2019re not interested so there\u2019s no miscommunication, people think you\u2019re or that you are not here for the right reasons.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: “I never was strategic. I stated how I felt every time. If you feel a way, come talk to me about it, or I\u2019ll pull you aside to clear the air.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chelley and Ace also addressed their plans for the future now they’ve left the Love Island USA villa, revealing: “We are going to take our time day by day.<\/p>\n

“We are still getting to know each other outside of villa life. Life is completely different from what America gets to see. I\u2019m excited to grow our relationship and improve our communication.\u201d<\/p>\n
