{"id":24823,"date":"2025-07-07T11:15:54","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T10:15:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/?p=24823"},"modified":"2025-07-07T11:15:54","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T10:15:54","slug":"revealed-cierra-defended-slur-use-as-soon-as-she-was-messaged-about-it-before-love-island-usa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thetab.com\/realityshrine\/2025\/07\/07\/revealed-cierra-defended-slur-use-as-soon-as-she-was-messaged-about-it-before-love-island-usa\/","title":{"rendered":"Revealed: Cierra defended slur use as soon as she was messaged about it before Love Island USA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Messages where Love Island USA cast member Cierra defended her use of a slur after she was informed that her use of it in her story was &#8220;derogatory&#8221; last year have been revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Someone shared a screenshot of their Instagram DM&#8217;s with Cierra in 2024 where they informed her that the slur &#8220;ch*nky&#8221; is &#8220;so derogatory&#8221; following her using it in her story.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-embed-bq\" style=\"height:500px\" ><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/LoveIslandITV\/comments\/1lsfsz9\/dms_have_now_come_out_proving_someone_told_cierra\/\">DM\u2019s have now come out proving someone told Cierra she used a slur<\/a><br \/> by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/user\/bword___\/\">u\/bword___<\/a> in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/LoveIslandITV\/\">LoveIslandITV<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/embed.reddit.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In a screenshot of Cierra\u2019s Instagram story, posted to Reddit, she wrote: \u201cBotox isn\u2019t for everyone but I love it for me!!!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am incredibly expressive with my face and I catch myself frowning for no reason throughout the day when I\u2019m focusing on something or thinking too hard lol.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can also be a little ch*nky when I laugh\/smile so I love getting a mini brow lift to open up my eyes and get that snatched look. This is not me encouraging but moreso sharing.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-embed-bq\" style=\"height:500px\" ><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/LoveIslandITV\/comments\/1lksrex\/cierra_using_a_slur_to_describe_her_eyes\/\">Cierra using a slur to describe her eyes<\/a><br \/> by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/LoveIslandITV\/\">LoveIslandITV<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/embed.reddit.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In the messages, which were sent a year before her Love Island USA appearance, Cierra defended her use of the word, replying: &#8220;Oh man thankfully that&#8217;s not how I used it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The messages come as a second instance of her using the ethnic slur was discovered after a video Cierra herself <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@cierraortega\/video\/6838379302598298885?_r=1&amp;_t=ZN-8xoOJhusxjK\">posted on her TikTok.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24845\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Via TikTok<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The video is a compilation of pictures to show the difference in her appearance before and after she went to the University of Arizona, with another one of her captions including the slur.<\/p>\n<p>The picture was posted in 2015, with the caption: &#8220;Still ch*nkin&#8217; at the top.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><i
