She&#8217;s just dished the truth behind her eye-catching name, and the backstory is super sweet.<\/p>\n<h2>Belle-A finally spoke out about her name<\/h2>\n<p>No, Love Island USA season seven star Belle-A Walker isn&#8217;t just trying to be cool. The dash in her name is genuinely on her birth certificate.<\/p>\n<p>She explained in an exclusive with <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/love-island-usa-belle-a-shares-family-story-behind-unique-name-exclusive-11755642\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">People<\/a> that her name actually has a really deep meaning.<\/p>\n<p>The Love Island USA star was only on the show for a brief spell before <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/2025\/06\/12\/belle-a-just-revealed-the-confusing-last-words-nic-said-to-her-before-love-island-usa-dumping\/\">being booted out the villa by Nicolas Vansteenberghe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But, even in that time, Belle-A made her mark on people watching at home, and after her exit, she&#8217;s still staying super relevant.<\/p>\n<p>Folks had a lot of questions when it came to Belle-A&#8217;s name, and now she&#8217;s finally clearing things up.<\/p>\n<p>She said of her unique name: &#8220;It really is legit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Love Island USA star clarified the deep meaning behind her name<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Love Island USA&#039;s Belle-A Spills All From Fiji!\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Neo2UV1RjjQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Although Belle-A was introduced on Love Island USA as &#8220;Bella,&#8221; people have also taken to calling her &#8220;Belle dasha.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Chicks in the Office podcast, she joked: &#8220;You know what? You can call me whatever you want, just don&#8217;t call me late for dinner.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Love Island USA season seven&#8217;s first eliminated contestant, then went into the meaning behind her name.<\/p>\n<p>She explained: &#8220;My name has gone through this evolution throughout my life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s almost like my name and my nickname is associated by the place that I&#8217;m in&#8230;&#8221; she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Belle-A explained how she was born in Oregon and had nicknames like &#8220;Izzy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But, when she moved to Hawaii and was in college, she said &#8220;Belle-A&#8221; was her &#8220;rebrand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The axed Love Islander said she didn&#8217;t want &#8220;any bit of Isabelle left on her.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She was starting a new journey, and opted for a new name to go with her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bella was who I wanted to be; she brought a new sense of confidence, and a new character&#8230;&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/2025\/06\/09\/belle-a-may-have-left-love-island-usa-but-people-are-shook-over-these-pics-with-her-ex\/\">Love Island USA fan favourite<\/a> said: &#8220;My legal name is Isabelle-Ann, my mom&#8217;s name is Vera-Ann, so I&#8217;m named after her and that dash is in my\u00a0birth certificate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to People, Belle-A also added another layer to how her name is special.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8220;It goes back in my family history. My nana, her name was Ann Annie, so she named my mom Vera-Ann&#8230;. my mom wanted to give me a piece of nana as well, so she named me Isabelle-Ann.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>For all the latest
